RollerCoaster Tycoon: Deluxe
The 1999 classic gets a GOG re-release that runs on modern PCs, but there's a reason the community gravitates toward the fan-patched OpenRCT2 instead.
GamerScout Verdict
Solid for tycoon purists who want the original untouched, but modern players should try OpenRCT2 first.

About RollerCoaster Tycoon: Deluxe
I booted this expecting a straightforward nostalgia hit, and it delivers the core loop: build paths, place rides, manage finances, watch guests flood in or bail when bathrooms are full. The original game design is genuinely clever - balancing profit with park aesthetics still holds up. But Deluxe is a direct port of an old engine. No quality-of-life updates, dated UI, and it stutters on high-res monitors. If you've never played the original, the mechanics are worth your time. If you have, OpenRCT2 (free, community-run) patches every frustration this version left unresolved.
