How We Track Prices

Our automated systems continuously monitor prices from every store we track. Stores with a live feed are collected several times a day; the rest as often as their feed allows. We never hide the difference — every offer on GamerScout is stamped with the exact time we last checked it, so you can see for yourself how current a price is.

Prices change frequently, especially during sales. Stores with a live feed are re-checked several times a day, and we check more often around major sale events like the Steam Summer Sale and Black Friday. Where a store’s feed is slower we say so instead of hiding it — the timestamp on every offer tells you exactly how current that particular price is.

We store historical price data to show you price trends over time. This helps you understand if a current deal is truly good or if the game has been cheaper before. Our "Historical Low" indicator shows when a game reaches its lowest recorded price.

Set your desired price for any game, and we'll notify you via email when it drops to that level or below. You can also opt to receive alerts for historical lows, ensuring you never miss the best deals on games you're watching.

We track two kinds of store and we never blur the line between them. Official stores sell keys supplied by the publisher or its distributor. Key marketplaces are platforms where third-party sellers list keys — we vet the platform, not each individual seller, and marketplace prices are usually lower because of that. Every store page states which kind it is and links to that store’s own buyer-protection and refund terms.
