A code only redeems into a Google account whose country matches the card. A GBP card will not load onto an account registered in India, and an IDR card will not load onto a USD account; Google rejects the code instead of converting it, so check your account country before you pick a currency. The other thing worth knowing is that balance is one way. Once it is in the account it spends only on Google Play, it does not convert back to money, and it does not move to a different account.
