ABOUT

About Nintendo gift cards

A Nintendo eShop Card adds funds to your Nintendo account for digital Switch games, DLC and Nintendo Switch Online memberships.

eShop cards are region-specific. Compare prices for every value before you buy: the same code is often cheaper at one of the partner stores we track.

We carry 148 Nintendo eShop card listings across three stores, and the useful way to read them is by currency rather than as one price ladder. USD runs 5, 10, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 60, 65, 70, 99, 100 and 150. EUR covers 7.99, 15, 19.99, 25, 35, 50, 75 and 100. GBP goes 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 50, 75 and 100. CAD has 10, 20, 25, 35, 45, 50, 70, 99 and 100.

Outside those four, JPY comes in 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000, 5000 and 9000. BRL has 30, 40, 50, 100, 150, 250, 300, 400 and 500. PLN runs 60, 70, 100, 120, 250, 370 and 500. MXN covers 100, 200, 300, 350, 500 and 1000. NOK is 76, 150, 190, 250, 500, 750 and 1000, and SEK is 80, 150, 200, 250, 500, 750 and 1000. If your exact figure is not on the list, several codes can be loaded onto the same account and the balance adds together.

The currency printed on the card is the thing that has to match your Nintendo Account country. Our region column shows Global for these listings, but that describes how the listing is sold, not what the code will accept: a 25 EUR card is built for a euro-country account, and many of the euro listings carry a country label such as SPAIN in the title. Put a code into an account set to a different country and it will simply be rejected at the redeem screen.

One thing worth knowing before you pick an amount: whatever you load stays as eShop balance on that Nintendo Account. It does not move to another account, it does not follow you if you change your account country, and it cannot be converted back into money. Buying a 9000 JPY or 500 BRL card is a decision to spend that amount on that one account, so it is better to top up close to what you plan to buy than to park a large balance you may not use.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I pay for Nintendo Switch Online with eShop funds?

Yes: memberships can be paid from the eShop balance.

Which region Nintendo eShop card do I need?

Pick the card whose currency matches the country set on your Nintendo Account. If your account is set to a euro country you need a EUR card, if it is set to Japan you need a JPY card, and so on.

Is there a $30 Nintendo eShop card?

Yes, 30 is one of the USD values we carry, alongside 5, 10, 20, 25, 35, 40, 45, 60, 65, 70, 99, 100 and 150.

Can I use a EUR card on a US account?

No. A EUR card will not redeem on an account set to the United States, and vice versa. The currency and the account country have to line up.

What if the amount I want is not listed?

You can redeem more than one card onto the same account and the amounts stack. For example, two 25 EUR cards give you 50 EUR of balance.

Can I get unused eShop balance back as cash?

No. Balance stays on that Nintendo Account as eShop credit. It cannot be refunded to money, sent to another account, or spent outside the eShop.
