About Minecraft gift cards
Minecoins buy skins, texture packs, maps and worlds in the Minecraft Marketplace (Bedrock Edition): across mobile, console and Windows.
Coin packs come in fixed sizes; we compare each pack across stores.
Three different things sit under this brand and they do not overlap. Minecoin packs are Bedrock currency, spent inside the in-game Marketplace on skins, texture packs, worlds and mash-up packs from community creators. The PS4 line is listed as Tokens rather than Minecoins, which is the same in-game balance under the label that console uses. The eGift cards are a separate product: they are Minecraft Shop keys that load store credit, not in-game coins, so they will never show up as a Minecoin balance. Work out which of the three you actually want before you pay.
Coin packs come in six sizes: 500, 700, 1000, 1720, 3500 and 8800 Minecoins. 500 and 700 are the small top-ups, 1000 and 1720 sit in the middle, 3500 is the step above that, and 8800 is the largest pack we carry. Most of those are Xbox Live keys tagged GLOBAL, and 700 also appears as a PS4 Tokens listing. The eGift cards come in two fixed values, 8.39 GBP and 16.74 GBP, both sold as Minecraft Shop keys for the United Kingdom. That is 19 listings in total, spread across three stores.
Matching is where these go wrong. The Minecoin packs are listed GLOBAL, so they are not locked to one country's storefront, but the code still has to go into the account type it was made for: an Xbox Live key redeems on an Xbox or Microsoft account, not a PlayStation one, and the 700 PS4 Tokens listing is the other way round. The GBP eGift cards are stricter. They are United Kingdom keys, and a Minecraft Shop account set to another country will reject them. A mismatched code fails at redemption and cannot be switched to your region afterwards.
One thing to be clear about before you spend. Whatever you load stays where you loaded it. Minecoins live in your Marketplace balance and can only be spent on Marketplace content, so they do not convert into Minecraft Shop credit, into general Microsoft account funds, or back into money. The GBP eGift card credit works the same way in reverse. If you redeem the 8800 pack and spend 3000, the remaining 5800 sit in that account until you use them. They cannot be moved to another account or cashed out.
How to redeem
Redeem the code at microsoft.com/redeem or in-game.
Open Minecraft (Bedrock) and visit the Marketplace.
Your Minecoin balance is available on all devices with the same Microsoft account.
Which Minecraft card do I need?
Minecraft cards are locked to the country of your account: the currency shown here isn't enough on its own.

Frequently asked questions
Do Minecoins work in Java Edition?
No: the Marketplace and Minecoins are Bedrock-only. Java uses a separate ecosystem.
Which region do I pick for Minecoins?
The Minecoin packs are listed as GLOBAL, so the country on your account is not the limiting factor. What matters is the platform: an Xbox Live key has to be redeemed on an Xbox or Microsoft account.
Do you have a 1720 or 8800 Minecoin pack?
Yes, both are among the six sizes we carry, along with 500, 700, 1000 and 3500. 8800 is the largest pack listed for this brand.
Can I use a UK Minecraft gift card on a US account?
No. The 8.39 GBP and 16.74 GBP eGift cards are United Kingdom Minecraft Shop keys and only redeem on a Shop account set to the United Kingdom. A non-UK account will reject the code.
Which Minecoin pack works on PS4?
The 700 pack is the one listed for PS4, where it appears as Tokens rather than Minecoins. The other sizes here are Xbox Live keys.
Can I get leftover Minecoins back as money?
No. Unspent Minecoins stay in the Marketplace balance on the account that redeemed them and cannot be converted to cash, to Minecraft Shop credit, or transferred to someone else.
