Three stratagems built around holding a line, not pushing one. Worth it if Retaliatory Strike missions are where you spend your time, less so if you roam.

I've called in a lot of stratagems across a lot of HELLDIVERS sessions, and the Entrenched Pack is one of those add-ons where the pitch is honest but narrow: it gives you tools for locking down a position, and if that's not your playstyle it'll sit in your loadout unused. The headliner is the AT-47 Anti-Tank Emplacement, and it earns its slot in the right missions. It's a manually operated gun - you sit in the chair, you aim, you fire. No AI, no automation, no turret timer ticking down on you. Unlike the auto-turrets that vanish after a fixed duration, the AT-47 stays on the field until it gets crushed or you run out of its 25 rounds (35 after upgrades). Against Bugs and Cyborgs on Retaliatory Strike defense objectives, a well-placed AT-47 with an upgraded magazine and a competent gunner can anchor an entire lane. One player in that chair effectively frees up the squad's stratagem slots for crowd control and resupply instead of stacking AT options. The community consensus around it is solid for defense - players who run it regularly on Helldive difficulty report clearing armored patrols cleanly once the mag upgrade lands. The other two items round out the defensive theme without being stars. The Anti-Personnel Barrier is an airdropped barbed wire fence that slows and entangles incoming enemies. It does minimal damage on its own, but it buys seconds - which, in a tight choke, matters. The SH-32 Directional Kinetic Shield projects a forward-facing shield from the backpack slot, reducing incoming projectile damage from the front. It is strictly directional, which means flanks and swarms shred you if you get caught rotating. Both are situational to a fault, and that's the honest limitation of this pack at higher difficulties. The honest criticism from the HELLDIVERS community is consistent: the Entrenched Pack's items are useful in specific scenarios - mainly defense objectives - but they fade in value at high-level freeform missions where mobility and flexibility matter more than holding ground. Veteran players running difficulty 13 and above tend to reach for other loadout options. If you are new, the AT-47 hits harder and feels more impactful, and the barrier has a cleaner effect before enemy density overwhelms it. The pack is also one of the cheaper individual purchases in the DLC lineup, which softens the situational nature of what's inside. If you are already deep in HELLDIVERS and defense missions are a regular part of your rotation, this pack has one genuinely strong stratagem and two support tools that combo well around it. If you are picking up DLC one at a time as a new player, the Terrain Specialist and Ranger packs are more broadly useful. The Entrenched Pack is for the player who wants to plant a flag and make the enemy come to them. Fred, Scout Team
