I've spent enough time dropping into procedurally-generated bug nests and cyborg fortresses to have strong opinions about which HELLDIVERS DLC actually pulls its weight mid-mission, and the Ranger Pack sits in an honest middle tier. The two functional items here are the LHO-63 'Camper' marksman rifle and the Humblebee UAV stratagem, plus a cosmetic set of Ranger-themed helmet, armor, and cape. The cosmetics look clean. That's about all I can say about them. The Humblebee UAV is the reason this pack gets recommended at all. Deploy it and it reveals hidden objectives and sample locations on the radar. In a co-op session where the team is grinding upgrades, having someone run the UAV meaningfully cuts mission time. The community consensus has held this up for years: the UAV is a legitimate utility tool, especially during the mid-game stretch when sample farming determines how quickly your squad can unlock better stratagems and gear. Once you've hit endgame and your kit is fully upgraded, the UAV loses a significant chunk of its purpose and you'll likely swap it out for something more combat-oriented. That's a real shelf-life concern worth factoring in before you buy. The Camper is the weaker half of this deal. On paper, a designated marksman rifle designed for high-value target elimination fits the scouting fantasy perfectly. In practice, the community has consistently flagged it as underwhelming, particularly at higher difficulty planets where enemies are tankier and the pace of engagement demands faster weapons that can handle swarms. Paired against what other DLC packs offer, the Camper rarely earns a slot in a well-optimized loadout. If precision long-range play is what you're after, you'll hit its ceiling quickly. This is a DLC for the original HELLDIVERS, a top-down twin-stick shooter built around four-player co-op, mandatory friendly fire, and stratagem-based loadout planning on procedurally generated missions. If you haven't already bought into the base game, that context matters. The Ranger Pack is not a standalone experience; it's a narrow loadout expansion. Friendly fire is always on, aiming to center mass matters, and coordinating stratagem calls with your squad is the actual game loop. This pack adds one piece to that loop that genuinely helps, and one that mostly sits in your unlocks menu. Bottom line: if you're an active HELLDIVERS player still working through sample collection and stratagem upgrades, the Humblebee alone probably justifies the low asking price. If you're deep into endgame or buying this hoping the Camper will freshen up your gunfight experience, don't count on it delivering.
