I went in expecting a straightforward whodunit, and Art of Murder delivers exactly that: you're playing as Nicole Bonnet, piecing together clues around a murdered agent and a kidnapped DEA professor. The puzzle logic is sound, inventory-based item hunts and environmental observation that actually require attention, and the core mystery doesn't insult your intelligence. The problem is execution. Dialogue feels stiff, character interactions lack warmth, and the production budget shows everywhere: voice acting ranges from passable to rough, and the interface is functional but dated. This is a game for players who value puzzle-solving over presentation, who grew up with early 2000s adventure game standards and don't need Hollywood polish to enjoy a mystery. If you're hunting for a quick detective story with zero pretension, it works. If you need decent voice acting or modern UI polish, skip it.
