Hunt for the Puppeteer drops you into FBI agent Nicole Bonnet's investigation of a serial killer leaving creepy 18th-century dolls at crime scenes. The puzzle design is competent: you'll hunt for clues, connect evidence threads, and solve inventory-based head-scratchers that actually require thought rather than random clicking. The dual-continent setting gives you varied locations to explore, and the premise has genuine creepy potential. The problem is execution. Dialogue feels stiff and overwrought, characters don't land, and the pacing drags between puzzle bursts. The story doesn't build momentum, it just shuffles you from scene to scene. If you're desperate for point-and-click adventure games and don't mind rough edges, there's a functional mystery here. But this isn't the detective thriller that'll stick with you.
