The best thing here is the pacing of the Challenge Mode duels, which drop you into pre-set board states and force you to find the line rather than draw into it. That is genuinely good practice, and it is the one part of this package that respects a player's brain. The rest is narrower than the packaging suggests. You get two pre-constructed decks, Dark Mist and Evilswarm, and that is your entire toolbox. No card pool to mine, no ratio tuning, no swapping a third copy of a searcher for a hand trap. For a card game where the real decision-making happens between duels, locking the deck list is the design equivalent of removing the build order. What remains is the ZEXAL campaign, which walks through the show's beats duel by duel, plus online PvP against whoever else is still around. Evilswarm plays like a floodgate deck with a low skill floor and a real ceiling once you learn what to bait. Dark Mist is showier and less stable. Controller support is solid, matches are quick, and the ruleset holds up. Just go in knowing this is a themed slice, not a simulator you will sink two hundred hours into.
