WWE 2K26 Monday Night War Edition
If you've ever wanted Macho Man Randy Savage dropping elbows on CM Punk across four decades of WWE history, this top-tier bundle is the closest you'll get, though 2K's new monetisation model demands scrutiny before you commit.
GamerScout Verdict
Best for Attitude Era nostalgists and creation-suite obsessives who want the complete year-one content drop without drip-feed anxiety.

About WWE 2K26 Monday Night War Edition
I spent a solid stretch of time mapping the mode structure of WWE 2K26 like a tech tree, and the honest verdict is that the core wrestling engine is the strongest Visual Concepts has shipped. The stamina-based reversal system finally kills the old reversal-fest problem, matches have genuine back-and-forth rhythm now, and the improved ragdoll physics mean slamming someone onto a ladder or steel steps actually looks like it hurts. New weapons like thumbtacks, which create a permanent damage zone on the mat, add a layer of tactical positioning that a sim-leaning player can actually exploit. New match types, including Inferno, I Quit, 3 Stages of Hell, and the Dumpster variant, round out a stipulation library that now covers nearly everything a serious wrestling fan would want to book. The Monday Night War Edition is the all-in SKU. Beyond the base game you get all six seasons of the Ringside Pass Premium, the Monday Night War Edition Pack (Shawn Michaels DX, Macho Man Randy Savage '98 nWo, Rowdy Roddy Piper '98, and the WCW Thunder '98 Arena), plus the stacked Attitude Era and King of Kings packs that add The Rock '99, Kane '98, Chyna '97, Triple H '98, Stephanie McMahon, and the RAW is WAR '98 Arena. The WrestleMania 42 Pack, including that arena and three Superstar Persona Cards, arrives post-launch. If you care about the Monday Night Wars era specifically, the roster depth here is the appeal, and it is genuine. Mode-by-mode, the picture is mixed but mostly positive. MyGM continues its upward trajectory, with cross-brand booking, deeper contract mechanics, and rivalry management that rewards patient, strategic play over multiple in-game seasons. Universe Mode finally gets the WWE Draft and a Creation Wizard, plus improved Money in the Bank cash-in logic that no longer requires you to pre-assign a target title, which was a long-standing frustration. The CM Punk Showcase covers multiple decades and includes fantasy historical scenarios, though it suffers from the usual problem of over-directing the player through objectives rather than letting matches breathe. MyRise is the weakest pillar, widely criticised for flat writing and near-identical male and female story paths. Commentary, now featuring Booker T and Wade Barrett, is the best the series has had in years. The elephant in the room is the Ringside Pass, 2K's replacement for the old DLC pack model. The Monday Night War Edition bundles all six seasons, which sidesteps the per-season grind concern for this specific SKU. That said, the broader community has flagged that Seasons 1 onward gate wrestlers behind XP progression that can feel slow, and the free-tier roster depth at launch is thinner than what was available out of the box in 2K25. 2K did patch early Ringside Pass issues post-launch, including making paid DLC characters more accessible. Whether the battle pass framework is acceptable or predatory will depend entirely on how much you value owning a complete roster on day one versus unlocking it incrementally. The Monday Night War Edition does the most to mitigate that concern by including the full pass upfront. For a strategy-minded player evaluating this as a long-term investment, the mode depth in MyGM and Universe alone justifies serious attention. The creation suite now offers 200 Superstar slots, expanded hair customisation, and more move assignment options than any prior entry, which matters enormously for the community creation ecosystem. Newcomers should not be intimidated by the volume. Start with a single MyGM season on normal difficulty and the systems reveal themselves at a sensible pace. The tutorial respects your time and the difficulty slider actually works. This is not a game you will exhaust in a weekend.
