The stamina-based reversal system introduced this year cuts down on the reversal-spam wars that plagued earlier entries, creating matches with real momentum shifts and back-and-forth rhythm rather than button-mashing standoffs. New match types, including Inferno, I Quit, Three Stages of Hell, and Dumpster, expand the chaos toolkit meaningfully. Inferno is the standout, letting you brawl at ringside before the flames even ignite. Thumbtacks are finally in the game too, and the updated ragdoll physics mean slamming someone onto a ladder or steel steps actually looks and feels violent in the right way. The mode suite is genuinely wide. MyGM continues to be the most underrated mode in any sports game on PC right now, and 2K26 pushes it further with a WWE Draft mechanic and improved cross-brand rivalry building. Managing contracts, building feuds, and booking shows has real depth without punishing newcomers for not knowing every slider. Universe Mode gets the Draft too, plus expanded promo options and 200 Creation Suite slots, which is a meaningful upgrade for the community-creation crowd. Showcase Mode puts CM Punk front and center, narrated by Punk himself, covering his career across multiple decades and throwing in some "what if" fantasy scenarios that give it more replay value than the usual objective-checklist format. The roster clears 400 playable characters, spanning current main roster names like Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and Rhea Ripley through to legends across the Attitude Era, Ruthless Aggression Era, and WCW. Commentary with Booker T and Wade Barrett is noticeably sharper than prior years, and the crowd audio remains the most immersive in any wrestling game to date. The Attitude Era Edition specifically bundles The Rock '99, Kane '98, Chyna '97, the RAW is WAR '98 Arena, the King of Kings Edition content, and four seasons of Ringside Pass Premium. That Ringside Pass is where things get complicated. It replaces the old DLC pack model with a live-service battle pass structure, featuring 40 free and 40 premium tiers per season, with six seasons planned across the year. Some wrestlers locked behind it were freely available in 2K25 at launch, which stings. The free tier does unlock meaningful content through regular play, and tier rewards never expire, which avoids the predatory FOMO structure seen elsewhere, but grinding to unlock characters you expect to be in the base game is a friction point that reviewers and players have consistently flagged. MyRise is another weak spot, widely criticized for uninspired writing and a male and female path that feel nearly identical. For a strategy-and-sim brain assessing value, the calculus is straightforward. The Attitude Era Edition's bundled Ringside Pass seasons soften the monetization sting compared to buying passes individually. If you play MyGM, Universe, and the creation suite heavily, you will get your hours. If you are primarily a casual exhibition player who wants legends unlocked on day one without grinding, the base game's roster gatekeeping will frustrate you. The PC version supports full gamepad options including DualSense and DualShock, keyboard-only play, adjustable difficulty, and custom volume controls, which means accessibility on the hardware side is solid even if the business model is not.
