Plant trees, lean on the Biggdrasil wonder, activate the right edicts, and the Nature Value climbs, feeding efficiency bonuses back into several of the 15 new buildings. It is a tidy feedback loop, and it sits neatly inside Tropico 6's existing faction-balancing act: push Nature Value too hard and your industrialists will remind you at the ballot box. The 15 new structures are the headline argument for this DLC. Forest Schools, Tree Houses, and an outdoor gym are the flavour picks, but the Biggdrasil is the one you will actually plan around. It is the first world wonder in Tropico 6 that you can customize, and watching it interact with your Nature Value score across all four eras, from Colonial to Modern Times, gives it more strategic weight than a static monument. The three new edicts, Reforestation, Natural Reaction, and Tropical Paradise, slot cleanly into the edict rotation without feeling forced, which is more than some earlier DLC packs managed. The single included scenario, El Arbol De Maravilla, is the DLC's weakest point. It spans the full four eras with Biggdrasil's growth as the narrative spine, which sounds ambitious on paper, but the community consensus is clear: it is short, it is fun while it lasts, and then it is over. The saving grace is that the scenario map unlocks in sandbox mode afterward, so it doubles as a decent playground for testing the new building roster. If you are already deep into a long sandbox run, the DLC's content drops right in without a restart. For newcomers to Tropico 6 reading this, the base game remains one of the more accessible grand-strategy-adjacent city-builders available. The four-era progression, from Rum Distilleries in the Colonial period through cold-war-era trade manipulation to Modern Times manufacturing chains, gives you a natural difficulty ramp. The faction system, where Capitalists, Environmentalists, Nationalists, and others each demand specific building types and edicts, teaches political trade-offs without overwhelming the early game. Raids, where you dispatch agents to loot or spy on other nations, add a foreign-policy layer that most city-builders skip entirely. The modding ecosystem via Steam Workshop is healthy. Return to Nature drops onto that foundation without disrupting any of it. Where I'd pump the brakes is on value per dollar for players who own all eight previous DLC packs. One scenario and 15 buildings is a modest parcel. The community split on this is real, and the criticism that it is priced slightly high relative to older expansions is fair. Dedicated Tropico players who care about aesthetic city design and want a new optimization variable will find the Nature Value system genuinely rewarding. If you are primarily a scenario-chaser, the content-to-cost ratio is harder to defend at full price.
