I've logged enough hours in Tropico games to know the rhythm by heart: zone housing, build farms, shake down superpowers for cash, crush dissent. Tropico 6 keeps that loop intact across four historical eras with expanded map sizes and multiplayer modes (both cooperative and competitive). The AI remains predictable, the UI is serviceable, and if you've mastered Tropico 5, you'll hit the ground running with minimal friction. The problem is exactly that. This is iterative design masquerading as a full sequel. Solo campaigns feel thin, and endgame challenge plateaus once you've optimized resource flow. Multiplayer adds some competitive edge but doesn't fix the core campaign experience. It's competent leadership-sim comfort food, not innovation. Pick it up if the genre speaks to you and you've got appetite for more Tropico. Skip it if you've already spent 200 hours in number five.
