The Last Alchemist

I approached The Last Alchemist expecting a spreadsheet-heavy crafting grind, but what I found was a relaxed puzzle-logic game dressed up in alchemy trappings. You spend your time combining Essences (think elemental building blocks) to craft items and tools that unlock new areas and story beats. The Agari mushroom NPCs provide direction without nagging, and the world rewards poking around rather than demanding optimization. The core loop is solid enough for a 10-15 hour wind-down session, though don't expect the mechanical depth of a true crafting sim. Combat absence means no pressure, resource scarcity is gentle, and the late game doesn't pivot into something unrecognizable. It's a game content to be what it is: a low-stakes transformation puzzle wrapped in indie charm.
