Tank Battle: 1945
A pocket-sized hex wargame that hands you Germany's collapsing 1945 front and asks you to squeeze wins out of bad odds. Great in 20-minute doses, thin past that.
GamerScout Verdict
Worth it as a gateway hex wargame in short sessions, not as the campaign strategy game the WW2 framing implies.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About Tank Battle: 1945
The store page promises a WW2 hex wargame you can learn in one sitting, and that part is honest. Units are simple stacks with attack, defence and movement values, terrain modifies the rolls, and a scenario resolves in twenty to forty minutes. Where reality diverges from the pitch is depth. There is no production, no supply chain, no research tree, so once you learn the two reliable patterns (screen with infantry, punch with armour on a flank the AI has thinned), most maps fold to the same opening. The AI defends competently on a hex line but rarely counterattacks in a way that punishes overextension. Who it is for: newcomers who want the hex-and-counter vocabulary without a 300-page manual, and lunch-break players who like a tidy tactical puzzle. Who it is not for: anyone wanting an operational campaign with persistence between battles, or a mod scene, because neither exists here. Single-player only, scenario-based, and the 59% Steam score is about right for what it delivers.
