About SEASON OF MYSTERY: The Cherry Blossom Murders
I went in expecting typical hidden-object filler, but Season of Mystery hooks you with a premise that actually matters: your husband is dead, cops won't help, and you're the only one willing to dig. The game leans hard into atmosphere, planting you in evocative Japanese settings across a branching investigation. The catch is that "finding" clues means pixel-hunting through screens where a crucial item might be tucked behind a lantern corner or half-buried in foliage. If you enjoy that kind of challenge and don't mind the slow pace, there's real satisfaction in each discovery. It's not going to blow anyone away mechanically, and the story doesn't reinvent the revenge-mystery wheel. But for 2010 casual game standards, this is competent work from Square Enix that respects your time and doesn't spam artificial padding. Fans of old-school adventure game exploration will find something to like here, even if it's niche enough that you'll need patience to find information online.
