Total Overdose: A Gunslinger's Tale in Mexico

Total Overdose is a gonzo third-person shooter that abandons realism in favor of pure spectacle. You play as a trigger-happy antihero in Mexico, and the game leans hard into absurdist humor, slow-motion dive-and-shoot sequences, and physics-defying gun combat. Mission structure is straightforward action, drive somewhere, shoot lots of people, move on, but the exaggerated animations and quirky tone give it personality that straightforward clones lack. The catch is that this game feels like a relic from 2005 for good reason. Controls are clunky by modern standards, mission design lacks sophistication, and the novelty of wacky gunplay wears thin once you've seen the joke repeated. It's a budget game that knew what it was, and there's charm in that honesty.
