I've watched Jurassic World Evolution struggle with tycoon fundamentals since launch, but Badlands patches the biggest gap: juvenile dinosaurs now add a breeding and lifespan layer that actually forces planning beyond "place more paddocks." You're managing generations, genetic traits, and enclosure standards across real continents. The creative tools expanded too, letting you customize parks with more granularity than the base game allowed. Frontier clearly listened to what players wanted from a dino management sim. That said, this is DLC for an existing game, not a standalone entry. If the core Evolution 3 loop didn't grip you, Badlands won't rescue it. The AI park visitors still feel like props, and late-game income curves flatten predictably. But for existing players or folks who bounced off the original and want a second look, this is a legitimate improvement worth the investment.
