About Azkend 2: The World Beneath
I approached Azkend 2 expecting casual fluff, but found myself genuinely absorbed by its world-building. The match-three puzzles are solid and well-paced across diverse obstacle types, but the real draw is the discovery layer: hidden object minigames break up the matching, and voiceover characters actually voice a coherent underground mystery. The art direction feels deliberately crafted rather than templated. Levels introduce mechanics gradually without hand-holding, and the difficulty curve respects your time. That said, the UI feels a touch dated, and some puzzle solutions can feel arbitrary rather than logical. At 66% Steam positive, it's polarizing mostly because casual puzzle fans expect frictionless progression, and Azkend 2 occasionally requires genuine thought. If you value a puzzle game that knows it's telling a story, with pixel-craft polish throughout, this deserves a second look. It ends when it should, doesn't bloat, and respects the 6-10 hour investment.
