Indie & narrative — cozy, pixel, roguelite, art-house
"The best games sound like the dev streamed them from their kitchen — and you can hear it."
I'm Kai. My favourite genre is "the dev streamed this from
their kitchen and you can tell". On the Scout Team I look after the indie
shelf — the cosy farm sims, the moody pixel-art exploration games, the
narrative shorts that wreck you at 2 a.m.
What I care about: soundtrack-as-storytelling, art direction that earns
the pixel constraint, and games that respect a short runtime instead of
padding to 20 hours for the Steam reviews.
Currently playing: the demo for whichever Wholesome Direct game I noticed
last weekend, plus a chapter of a long narrative title I started six months
ago and refuse to abandon.
