GamerScout Verdict
Solid city-builder for strategy fans willing to overlook 2012-era UI and always-online requirements to unlock a satisfying resource chain puzzle.

About Anno 2070
I went in expecting standard Anno progression, and that's mostly what Anno 2070 delivers. You're building cities on islands, managing production chains, balancing population happiness against resource scarcity. The eco vs. tycoon faction split adds light strategic flavor without getting too complicated. The core loop of expanding, optimizing, and watching your city grow is genuinely engaging if you have patience for the slower pace. The catch: it's a 2012 game that shows it. The UI is clunky by modern standards, tooltips are sparse, and the always-online requirement kills any appeal if Uplay goes down. Graphics hold up better than expected, but don't expect quality-of-life features you'd find in newer builders. If you're a city-building purist who doesn't mind the age, there's a solid game here. Everyone else should look at newer alternatives first.
