About ACA NEOGEO METAL SLUG 4 (Xbox One)
Metal Slug 4 is the series' most uneven entry, and playing it now on Xbox One via HAMSTER's emulation confirms it. The core loop remains satisfying: spray bullets, toss grenades, hijack vehicles, repeat. But level design feels cramped compared to the trilogy, enemy patterns get cheap fast, and the difficulty spike is less "challenging" and more "see-saw." You'll spend more time memorizing bullet patterns than enjoying improvisation. If you're here for the Metal Slug formula, you'll get your fix in arcade mode, it's still a solid weekend distraction. Just know this entry leans hard into frustration. Casual fans should start with Slug 3; veterans might want to skip it and revisit the stronger entries.
