ACA NEOGEO THE KING OF FIGHTERS 2000 (Xbox One)

I approached KOF 2000 knowing it occupies a weird space in the franchise: it's the one that stripped characters down to a core fighter plus two strikers instead of a traditional three-person tag team. That system is worth understanding if you care about the series evolution, but it's also why casual players often skip it. The core fighting is solid - fast, combo-heavy, with good sprite animation that holds up. HAMSTER's port is arcade-accurate emulation, which means no rebalancing or quality-of-life additions. If you're hunting KOF completism or you want to understand why the striker mechanic split the fanbase, this is the authentic way to play it. Everyone else should start with KOF XIII or XV on modern platforms. This is archival work, not a gateway drug.
