CD Projekt Red Snags Blizzard's Audio Wizard for Witcher 4 — GamerScout

So here's some pretty wild news - CD Projekt Red just poached one of Blizzard's biggest audio talents. Russell Brower, yeah the same dude who made World of Warcraft sound absolutely legendary for over a decade, is now heading up audio for the Polish studio. And before you ask, yes, he's working on both The Witcher 4 AND whatever comes next for Cyberpunk.

Honestly? This is huge. Brower's not just some random hire - we're talking about the composer who won multiple awards for his work on WoW, StarCraft 2, and Diablo 3. The guy basically defined what Blizzard games sound like. Remember that spine-tingling music when you first stepped into Northrend? Or the haunting melodies in Pandaria? That's all Brower.

What really gets me excited is thinking about what this means for Witcher 4. We already know Ciri's taking the lead role this time around (that Unreal Engine 5 trailer still gives me chills), and now we've got one of gaming's best audio directors crafting her journey. Between CDPR's storytelling chops and Brower's musical genius? We might be in for something special.

The timing's interesting too. Blizzard's been bleeding talent left and right since the whole Microsoft acquisition wrapped up. Can't say I blame folks for jumping ship when opportunities like this pop up. CDPR's clearly not messing around with their next-gen projects.

No word yet on when we'll actually hear Brower's work, but with Witcher 4 still deep in development, I'm guessing we've got at least another year or two to wait. Worth it though, if you ask me.
