About Wasteland 3
I've sunk serious hours into Wasteland 3, and what struck me immediately was how confidently it wears its identity: this is isometric squad combat (think XCOM's tactical DNA) wrapped around a narrative where your decisions actually ripple forward. You command a Rangers unit in a frozen Colorado wasteland, assembling a crew of misfits and making calls that lock you out of entire story branches. The writing is sharp, the combat penalties are real, and there's actual build variety across your squad members that matters in firefights. That said, the mid-game pacing sags, and some side quests feel like XP taxes. The co-op multiplayer option is neat but undersupported. If you're after a CRPG that treats your choices like they mean something and rewards tactical experimentation, though, Wasteland 3 delivers on the promise its 85 Metacritic score suggests. Just go in expecting deliberate, punishing combat, not action.
