Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 - Macragge’s Chosen DLC
Three cosmetic pieces for die-hard Ultramarines fans, but sitting at 42% positive reviews, this one has a rough reputation it hasn't fully earned back.

About Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 - Macragge’s Chosen DLC
I'll be straight with you: if you came here expecting a gameplay drop, Macragge's Chosen is not it. This is a pure cosmetic add-on for Space Marine 2 - a Crux Terminatus right pauldron usable across all multiplayer classes, plus weapon skins for your Chainsword and Bolt Rifle, and a campaign skin covering Titus, Gadriel, and Chairon. That's the whole package. No new missions, no new weapons, no new modes. Just drip for the sons of Ultramar. The cosmetics themselves are genuinely well-made and fit the blue-and-gold Ultramarines aesthetic tightly. The Crux Terminatus pauldron is a recognisable piece of 40K iconography and looks sharp when layered into a custom loadout across Operations and Eternal War. For the lore-invested player who has painted Ultramarines on a tabletop or just wants their Battle Barge armour to look the part, the visual quality is solid. The problem is the value equation, and the community has not been quiet about it. Steam reviews sit at a mixed 42% positive. The main complaints split into two camps: first, frustration that this was originally positioned as a pre-order bonus and then made available for separate purchase shortly after launch, which upset players who pre-ordered expecting some exclusivity. Second, and more broadly, that three cosmetic items is a thin content ask for any price point, full stop. The base game's cosmetic customisation system is already reasonably deep through normal play, and the Macragge's Chosen content is a narrow slice compared to the Chapter Packs that arrived later in the post-launch cycle. Worth noting: these cosmetics are also not included in the Season Pass, so if you bought Gold or Ultra edition banking on everything being covered, this one slipped through the cracks. If you are a committed Ultramarines player who runs Operations regularly with friends and cares about how your armour looks in third-person co-op, there is a real, if small, appeal here. The Crux Terminatus pauldron reads well on screen and distinguishes your loadout in a lobby. But if you are on the fence, later Chapter Packs deliver more pieces per purchase and the base game's armour progression system already gives you a lot to work with for free just by playing. Casual fans and anyone who does not have a personal stake in Macragge's heraldry should skip it entirely and put the money toward more content-complete DLC. Fred, Scout Team
