The Evil Within - The Fighting Chance Pack (DLC)
A pre-order bonus pack that hands you a double-barrel shotgun, two exclusive Agony Crossbow bolt types, and a head-start of Green Gel the moment Chapter 3 begins. Completionists need it; everyone else should weigh up how much a locked achievement bothers them.
GamerScout Verdict
Required for achievement hunters locked out by the Incendiary and Poison bolts; a skippable comfort blanket for everyone else.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

About The Evil Within - The Fighting Chance Pack (DLC)
I'll be straight with you: this is not a DLC in any conventional sense. No new levels, no story, no extra hours of content. The Fighting Chance Pack is a pre-order bonus that Bethesda eventually made available through third-party key sellers, and what it does is drop a small bundle of items into Sebastian Castellanos' inventory the moment you hit Chapter 3 of The Evil Within. That context matters a lot before you spend anything on it. The Evil Within is a punishing third-person survival horror game directed by Shinji Mikami, the mind behind Resident Evil 4. Resources are scarce by design, stealth is often mandatory rather than optional, and the Agony Crossbow sits at the center of your toolkit, with craftable bolt types covering explosive, blinding, shocking, freezing, and piercing variants. The Fighting Chance Pack adds two more bolt types to that roster: the Incendiary Agony Bolt and the Poison Agony Bolt. It also includes a Double Barrel Shotgun that fires a two-shot burst at 150% base damage, a Medical Kit, and 5,000 units of Green Gel, the currency you use to buy upgrades at the Safe Haven chair. That early gel injection can unlock sprint or health upgrades before the game's resource drought really bites. Here is the problem that has frustrated the community for years. One Steam achievement, tied to getting kills with every Agony Bolt type, counts the Incendiary and Poison bolts introduced by this pack. Without the DLC, 100% completion is simply not achievable through legitimate means. That is a real issue, and players have been vocal about it on the forums since launch. The Double Barrel Shotgun also comes with a catch: unlike the base game's pump-action, it cannot be upgraded. Veteran players note it loses relevance once the pump-action gets a few upgrade tiers behind it, making it more of an early-game crutch than a permanent fixture. Whether the pack breaks the horror atmosphere is worth thinking about. The base game is built around scarcity; the design forces you to stealth-kill where possible and treat every bullet like it might be your last. Dropping a powerful shotgun and a gel windfall into Chapter 3 softens that tension noticeably, at least in the opening hours. Some players in the community have noted they were happy they skipped it precisely because the resource pressure is core to what makes the game tense. If you are playing on Survival difficulty or above, the pack is a meaningful assist. On Casual, it is almost pointless. Bottom line for anyone on the fence: if you care about achievement completion, this pack is effectively required and the community knows it. If you just want to experience The Evil Within as it was designed, the scarcity and desperation intact, you can skip it without missing a single story beat or gameplay system.
