Compare The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind prices across trusted key stores and find the best deal. Developed by Bethesda Game Studios. Published by Bethesda Softworks. Released on 4/17/2018. Available on PC, Xbox. Genres: Action, Adventure, RPG, Open World, Story rich. Metacritic score: 87/100.

A 2002 open-world RPG with no quest markers, dice-roll combat, and a hundred hours of reading. Brutal for newcomers, unmatched for anyone who wants to get lost.

Morrowind asks for your patience before it gives you anything. The first hour hands you a character sheet full of terms nobody explains, a set of directions written in prose ("follow the road north past the egg mine"), and a combat system where your sword swings pass straight through a mudcrab because your Long Blade skill is too low. There are no quest markers. There is no fast travel beyond silt striders, boats, and mage guild teleports you have to learn the network of. If you bounce off that, nobody will blame you. Stay, and Vvardenfell becomes one of the strangest places in games: giant mushroom towers, a foreign religion that treats you as a heretic, and factions that genuinely dislike you joining their rivals. The freedom is real. You can levitate over city walls, break the economy with alchemy loops, or kill an essential NPC and get told the prophecy is now your problem. Combat never stops being mushy, the voice acting is three lines deep, and the interface is a relic. Play it with the unofficial patches and accept it on its own terms. Alex, Scout Team

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.

Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.
