Tekken 7
A 2017 fighting game that's aged better than most arcade ports, with a story mode that actually justifies single-player time and a roster deep enough to reward frame-data grinders.
GamerScout Verdict
Solid for fighting game learners who want single-player substance and responsive 1v1 mechanics without committing to the current esports tier.

About Tekken 7
Tekken 7 is a 3D fighting game, not a strategy sim, so I'll keep this brief: the engine feels responsive on PC, the 40+ character roster has genuine mechanical variety, and the story mode (following the Mishima clan warfare) does what most fighting games don't, it's engaging without feeling like a tutorial wrapper. Rollback netcode came later via patches, so online stability improved significantly post-launch. Where it stumbles: balance patches shifted the meta repeatedly, and by 2024 the competitive scene has moved past it. But if you're learning fighting game fundamentals, the tutorial respects your time better than many peers, and local split-screen with a friend or gamepad collection still hits. The frame-data spreadsheet mentality that makes fighting games click is absolutely present here. Worth it if you want depth without the esports-level time commitment modern entries demand.
