Resident Evil 3 + Resident Evil Resistance
RE3 Remake pairs a punchy 5-hour campaign against Nemesis with Resistance, an asymmetrical multiplayer mode that works better in theory than practice.
GamerScout Verdict
Solid for horror fans craving tight campaign RE action, but Resistance multiplayer is the weak link in an otherwise focused package.

About Resident Evil 3 + Resident Evil Resistance
I went in expecting the 2020 RE3 remake to feel like a natural successor to RE2's reimagining. It nails the core loop: tight gunplay, environmental puzzle-solving, and that relentless Nemesis stalking you through Raccoon City. The campaign is lean and focused, trading the exploration pace of the original for forward momentum. Problem is, five hours is short even for a remake, and once you're done, Resistance is supposed to be the hook that keeps you playing. Resistance ships as a 4v1 asymmetrical multiplayer mode where one player controls traps and bioweapons against four survivors trying to escape. On paper, that's clever. In practice, matchmaking is inconsistent, balance favors one side depending on the lobby, and it never quite captures the tension that makes solo campaign RE3 work. If you're buying for the singleplayer horror experience, you'll get a tight, well-made five-hour ride. If you're hoping Resistance is the endgame, manage expectations.
