The harder question is whether Red Dead Online is worth investing in at all right now. Rockstar wound down active development years ago, and substantial new content has not arrived since. The servers are still live, seasonal events do still rotate through, and the existing role system gives a new player dozens of hours of structured progression to work through. The world itself, built on one of the best open-world foundations in modern games, still looks and feels exceptional. But if you are expecting a live-service game that keeps growing, that is not what this is anymore. The community that remains is dedicated and mostly friendly, but lobbies are quieter than they once were. For Xbox One and Xbox Series X players picking this up, the 25-bar pack makes the most sense if you are brand new to Red Dead Online and want to unlock your first role immediately rather than grind toward it.
