The first hour is a wall. You open a race, get handed a roster of eight riders with a dozen sliders each (fatigue, effort levels, energy bars that drain in ways the tutorial barely explains), and the 3D race view moves at a crawl while nothing appears to happen. Most people quit here, and the Mixed review score reflects that. Push through and the actual game shows up: this is a resource-management puzzle where energy is currency, positioning in the peloton costs less than riding in the wind, and a mistimed attack at 8km out means your leader cracks on the final climb. The career layer (sponsor objectives, contracts, scouting, training plans across a season) has genuine depth if you like reading numbers instead of watching animations. Where it disappoints: the AI still makes baffling chase decisions, the interface is dense in the bad way rather than the informative way, and it is an incremental update on an annual series rather than a rebuild. Multiplayer exists but the population for a 2015 entry is long gone. If you want a sport nobody else simulates properly, it delivers. If you want polish, look elsewhere.
