Already hooked on Sargon's twin blades and time powers? The Complete Upgrade Pack adds the Mask of Darkness story chapter plus cosmetics and an amulet, the only meaningful way to squeeze more out of one of 2024's best Metroidvanias.

I went into The Lost Crown expecting a competent-but-forgettable Ubisoft side project and came out the other side genuinely surprised by how sharp the whole thing is. The base game is a 2.5D Metroidvania set across the cursed mountain of Mount Qaf, where you play as Sargon, the youngest of an elite group of warriors called the Immortals. He wields twin blades, builds a growing toolkit of time-warped abilities, and the whole thing clicks together in a way that most genre entries take two sequels to figure out. The Complete Upgrade Pack is an add-on bundle for players who already own the base game. It collects the Mask of Darkness story DLC, four cosmetic outfits (Warrior Within, Two Thrones, Dark Prince, and Immortals), the Prosperity Bird amulet, and Fariba's Notebook, a digital art book. The headline item is the story DLC. If you want more time in Mount Qaf with Sargon, that is the reason to pick this up. The cosmetic skins are fan-service nods to earlier 3D entries in the franchise and are worth something if that lineage means anything to you, but they are not a buying argument on their own. The base game earns the praise it got at launch. Combat starts from a parry-focused foundation and expands into aerial combos, ground combo strings, dash-kicks, and Athra Surge abilities that charge through regular combat and can swing a fight in an instant. The six time powers Sargon collects across the run change not just what you can reach on the map, but how you think about moving through a room. A shadow-copy ability that lets you teleport back to a previous position is the standout, used for both the trickiest platforming puzzles and some clever boss phase transitions. The Memory Shards system, which lets you screenshot any location directly onto your map, is the kind of quality-of-life idea the genre should have had a decade ago. That said, a few rough edges carry over into the DLC. Some reviewers flagged that the added platforming challenges can lean into punishing checkpoint placement, asking you to replay long sequences from a distant respawn after a single missed input. If you found the base game's harder platforming corridors frustrating, the Mask of Darkness content reportedly pushes further in that direction. The moment-to-moment combat with standard enemies also runs dry faster than the boss encounters do, and the voice acting for Sargon in more serious narrative stretches is the weakest link in an otherwise polished production. The Complete Upgrade Pack is the right purchase if you finished the base game and want the story extension bundled with the cosmetics. If you only care about the narrative chapter and have no attachment to legacy skins, buying the Mask of Darkness DLC individually is also an option. Either way, the foundation it sits on is genuinely one of the stronger Metroidvanias released in recent years, and that counts for a lot. Alex, Scout Team

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.

Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.
