I went in expecting a trashy premise and got exactly that, which is oddly refreshing. Platonically Mauled is a short visual novel where Jun's imagination runs wild during mundane school committee gatherings, punctuated by surreal encounters with Towaka Minefuji (the titular magic cougar). The humor lands if you appreciate absurdist comedy and self-aware protagonist narration. It's pure fluff with no real stakes. The entire appeal lives in the title's promise: the "mauling" is romantic fantasy, not actual plot progression. If you're hunting for relationship depth or meaningful choices, look elsewhere. This is a 1-2 hour palate cleanser for people who enjoy visual novels as comedy vehicles. Cheap enough that it's a low-risk curiosity, but only if the premise already has you grinning.
