About NEON Squad Tactics
I appreciate Neon Squad Tactics for knowing what it is: a focused tactics experience built for VR headsets, not a pancake port pretending to be cutting-edge. You command one of nine squad members across 31 procedurally-generated maps, issuing move-and-shoot orders in turn-based fashion. The cyberpunk bar setting is purely dressing, but the seated-tabletop perspective works for VR precisely because it avoids locomotion jank. Single-player campaign is there, but the real meat is the four-player co-op drop-in missions where squad composition and coverage angles actually matter. The trade-off: depth is limited compared to XCOM or Chimera Squad. You're looking at 20-30 minute missions, not campaigns that demand spreadsheet-tier build optimization. If you own a VR headset and want tactics without the motion-sickness gamble, this scratches that itch. For flat-screen players or anyone expecting grand-strategy complexity, this isn't your target.
