Mario Kart World (Nintendo Switch 2)

I'm cautious about Nintendo's "groundbreaking" language here because Mario Kart has a reputation for iterating rather than reinventing. That said, building Mario Kart World from scratch for Switch 2 hardware suggests they're taking the opportunity to expand track rosters, add new mechanics, or rework the netcode that's been a pain point in past entries. The "expansive experience" tagline hints at either a beefier single-player campaign or serious content depth, neither of which Mario Kart is usually known for. The real question is whether this plays it safe (new tracks, fresh characters, same rock-paper-scissors item balance) or actually risks something different. If you're a couch co-op fan or competitive online player, this will almost certainly be worth your time once it lands. If you're hoping for a genre overhaul, manage expectations until we see actual gameplay.
