Mahjong Destiny is exactly what the title promises: traditional mahjong solitaire wrapped around a loose story of a young woman traveling to reunite with someone she cares about. The puzzle mechanics are orthodox Chinese mahjong - match pairs of free tiles, clear the board, repeat across a campaign of levels. There's no innovation here, and the story is bare-bones narrative filler between tiles. It's serviceable if you want low-stakes mahjong without frills, but there's nothing that distinguishes it from the hundreds of other mahjong solitaire games cluttering digital storefronts. If you're hunting for mahjong specifically and don't mind 2016-era production values, this will occupy an afternoon. Everyone else should look elsewhere.
