Think Car Mechanic Simulator with the diagnostics stripped out and a resale market bolted on. That difference matters more than it sounds: where Car Mechanic makes you reason about what is broken, Junkyard Builder makes you reason about margins. You haul a rusted lump into the yard, strip it into sortable categories, decide what gets cleaned and resold versus what goes straight to the scrap weight, and reinvest into workshop upgrades that shave seconds off each step. For about six or seven hours the arithmetic is genuinely engaging, and the sorting bins and upgrade tree give you a real reason to plan two purchases ahead. Then the decision tree flattens. By the mid-game every acquisition resolves the same way and the upgrades stop changing your routine, they just multiply it. Mostly Positive at 74 percent across 255 reviews reads about right to me. Full controller support, save anytime, and generous comfort options make it a fine podcast game for a couple of evenings. Just do not expect a management sim that keeps pushing back.
