GamerScout Verdict
A relic for arcade racing fans willing to accept dated graphics for chaotic, weapon-fueled highway destruction.

About Interstate '82
Interstate '82 is a mid-90s arcade racer built on vehicular combat. You pick a car, choose a route across the American highway system, and race against AI opponents who aren't above using weapons and ramming tactics to slow you down. The game leans hard into action over sim-racing: power-ups scattered across tracks, destructible environments, and enough metal-on-metal contact to feel like a demolition derby pretending to be a racing game. It's deliberately tongue-in-cheek, with a soundtrack and aesthetic that scream late-90s cheese. If you want realistic racing lines and tuning setups, this isn't it. If you want to wreck rivals with a wrench and laugh while doing it, Interstate '82 delivers that specific flavor of arcade chaos. The age shows, graphics are dated, handling is loose by modern standards, but the core loop of race, crash, and race again still works if you're in the mood for straightforward carnage.
