Compare Hold your houses prices across trusted key stores and find the best deal. Developed by WhackAKey Games. Published by Conglomerate 5. Released on 1/31/2017. Available on PC. Genres: Action, Strategy.

A 2017 tower-defense hybrid where you fortify a house against waves of robbers using a deck of weapons and upgrades. Niche, but mechanically sound if you want something between card strategy and real-time defense.

Hold your Houses sits in that awkward middle ground between tower defense and deck-building roguelike. You're defending a house from increasingly aggressive robberies, picking weapons and upgrades from a card pool before each wave hits. The action-strategy mix works on paper: you place defenses, manage limited resources, and watch the chaos unfold. It's got enough mechanical depth to keep a few runs interesting, especially if you care about optimizing weapon synergies and upgrade chains. The catch is that this 2017 indie release feels exactly as rough as its release date suggests. No Steam reviews means no safety net for new players, and the tutorial doesn't hold your hand through build theory. If you're comfortable failing runs to learn positioning and timing, there's a solidly crafted defense puzzle underneath. But if you want accessibility or post-2020 polish, move on. Diego, Scout Team

GamerScout Verdict

Best for strategy fans who enjoy optimizing card synergies and tolerate early-indie rough edges for mechanical depth.
