About High Speed Trains
High Speed Trains is a straight-up locomotive operator sim with zero tutorial cushioning. You get into the cab of real trains, manage throttle and braking systems, and follow schedules across authentic European rail lines. If you've played other sims in this space (Trainz, Train Simulator 2), you'll recognize the bones: switches, signals, timetables, physics that actually care whether you're accelerating a 200-ton consist up a grade. What kills it: the interface feels stuck in 2010, documentation is sparse, and the visuals won't impress anyone coming from modern releases. But here's the thing, if you're the kind of person who finds the act of smoothly piloting a train inherently relaxing, the low production values almost don't matter. This is niche-audience stuff. You're not buying this for spectacle; you're buying it because you want to operate trains without corporate bloat.
