I picked up Gord expecting another cozy builder, but this is something darker. You construct and manage a settlement in a low-fantasy world, assigning villagers to work, defend, or research while keeping morale from cratering. It's part town sim, part narrative adventure - your choices shape how the community evolves and what horrors you uncover about the land itself. The aesthetic is bleak and atmospheric, leaning heavy into Eastern European folklore vibes. The pacing drags sometimes, and if you need constant mechanical feedback loops, this won't scratch that itch. But if you want story baked into your simulation, where expansion feels genuinely risky, Gord delivers something that doesn't feel like every other builder on the market.
