I spent about an hour with FAN'CIE VEER, and it's exactly what the title promises: frantic, simple, and absurd. You're a cake-collecting character dodging obstacles in tight, score-chasing runs. The core loop is tight, move, avoid, eat cake, rack up points, and the retro pixel aesthetic leans hard into that no-budget arcade charm. It's the kind of game that doesn't overthink itself. What works is the pure arcade DNA: high replayability for speedrun types and score-chasers, achievements to grind, and genuinely hectic moments. What doesn't is the overall presentation and longevity for anyone not already obsessed with arcade revival games. At its price point and scope, it's a competent niche title. If you live for old-school high-score hunts, this scratches that itch. Everyone else should probably skip it.
