DreamWorks Dragons: Legends of The Nine Realms
A How to Train Your Dragon tie-in that swaps flying for grounded action-adventure, fun enough for fans of the films, but generic mechanics hold it back from standing on its own.
GamerScout Verdict
Best for Dragons franchise fans looking for a casual few hours, not for players seeking inventive action-adventure design.

About DreamWorks Dragons: Legends of The Nine Realms
I went in expecting a straight dragon-flying game based on the DreamWorks license, and instead found a character-driven action-adventure with a smaller scope than the marketing suggests. You play across nine realm levels, unlocking different dragon types and abilities as you progress through missions that blend combat, light puzzle-solving, and exploration. The controls are responsive and the art leans into the movie's aesthetic pretty well. The problem is the game doesn't do anything surprising with its concept. Combat loops get repetitive fast, and mission variety tops out around "fight enemies, collect items, move to the next area." It's competent, not compelling. If you're a Dragons fan who just wants to spend a few hours in that world, this scratches the itch. Everyone else should know upfront that this is licensed tie-in material through and through, solid for what it is, but nothing you'll remember after you're done.
