About Children Of Morta: Ancient Spirits
The mechanic that reshapes everything here is the family fatigue system: play one Bergson sibling too many runs in a row and they get worn down, taking more damage while their idle relatives get stronger. It sounds like a nag, but it quietly forces you to learn all seven kids rather than main the one that clicks. John's shield-bash tanking, Linda's charged bow shots, Kevin's dagger dashes, they each rewrite the dungeon completely, and the shared family upgrade tree means nothing you earn is wasted on a character you dropped. Ancient Spirits piles another playable fighter, skins and relics onto that foundation, and if you already burned forty hours on the main campaign it's a reason to return. If you haven't, this is the wrong door to enter through. The Mixed reception is fair: DLC characters don't come with the hand-painted narrated story beats that made the base game land, and the procedural dungeons start repeating their tricks well before your build peaks. Bring a friend for couch co-op, though, and the grind smooths out considerably.
