If you are the type of player who evaluates a purchase partly on how the community has expanded it, BONELAB sits in a strong position. Think of the base game as the engine and the mod library as the actual content backlog. For a strategy-minded player who values depth over flash, that distinction matters. New VR players should know upfront: BONELAB does not hold your hand gently. The early progression is deliberately cryptic, and the game expects you to experiment rather than follow waypoints. There is a learning curve to the locomotion and physics interaction that can feel disorienting in the first hour. Pushing through that friction is worth it, but newcomers should budget time for adjustment rather than expecting an immediate comfort experience.
