This one is for players who read cargo contracts like a balance sheet and want to run a trucking company, not admire the highway. If you came for driving feel, weather, or anything approaching modern simulation polish, walk away now, because the handling is stiff, the North American landscape is a repeating smear of green, and the audio budget clearly went home early. What SCS Software built here is a management loop with a truck attached. You start as a one-rig contractor taking whatever freight pays, you learn which lanes have reliable return loads instead of deadheading 400 miles empty, and eventually you are buying garages, hiring drivers, and watching a small fleet earn while you sleep in a cab somewhere in the Midwest. The decision-making is thinner than a Paradox title but the loop is honest. Contract selection, cargo weight against engine class, fuel and fatigue costs, and where to plant your next depot are real choices with real numbers behind them, and the game does not punish a beginner for getting them wrong. That forgiveness is also the ceiling. There is no meaningful AI opposition, no economic pressure once your fleet clears a few trucks, and the late game settles into a comfortable, profitable hum. It is a retro sim, single-player, and it plays like one. Go in wanting a low-stakes logistics puzzle and it delivers for a good sixty hours.
