Theatre Of The Absurd

I've played enough adventure games to recognize when a small studio swings for something strange instead of safe. Theatre of the Absurd doesn't have AAA production values or a household name attached, but it commits hard to its premise: a young girl trapped in a remote theatre with something ancient and hostile, and you're hunting through the darkness for answers. The puzzles aren't handholding tutorials either - they require actual observation and logic, which is rarer than it should be in this genre. The trade-off is obvious. Budget constraints show in the visuals and voice work (if present), and the story can feel deliberately obscure to the point of frustration. But that's kind of the appeal if you're tired of adventure games that explain every plot point twice. This is for players who want atmosphere over accessibility, who don't mind rougher edges if the core experience is genuine and unsettling.
