Bringing a sledgehammer down on a Haunted in first person, then realizing the camera was never going to pull back, is the moment this add-on clicks. The Executioner is a side mode bolted onto The Evil Within, and it will not launch without the base game installed. You play the Keeper (the safe-headed brute from the campaign) through short arena stages, punching, hammering and upgrading melee gear rather than rationing pistol ammo. It is a few hours of novelty, not a second campaign; the store listing has the exact item breakdown. Worth grabbing if you finished the main game and want one more angle on its monsters, skippable if you only ever tolerated the combat.
